GB member Geoffrey Jackson is lying!
by Billy the Ex-Bethelite inokay, i know the royal commission hasn't started yet.
but i'm confident enough that he will be telling some whoppers.
so i thought i'd be the first to get a thread started for something that will begin... very soon now!.

Can You Really Become Inactive Instead of DA'ing and Keep Your Family
by truth-or-consequences inoz branch coordinator terrence o'brien opined a number of times at about 1:00:00 until about 1:15:00 of his testimony, that a dub does not need to da, they can become "inactive.".
i sent our beloved angus stewart my personal experience, as well as observations about official borg teachings.
(he replied in short order.).

He tried to make it sound like JWs were like any other church where people can leave and still keep their families and friends... no big deal.
Sure, I've successfully faded, but the family and friends I'm closest to are also faded. My parents are the only still active JWs that I have a relationship with, and it's not the same as it was. Those friends that still believing JWs are all people that believe I will, or am likely to be destroyed... very soon now.
Fortunately for me I've moved away from the area. But I still can't continue my spiritual journey with another religion or let pictures of birthday parties, casinos, etc. appear on my social media. As I've already learned, the other JWs won't bother coming to me and make an issue of what I do. Instead, they will give my elderly parents a hard time and pressure them to try to get me to conform.
It is, after all, a cult.

Another huge whopper is that elders were expected to use their conscience and report regardless of law. No, they're expected to phone the service department who'll tell them not to report regardless of their consciences.
Mephis, that is a comment worth repeating!

So far it seems that Watchtower has created a disorganized, illigical mess of further abusing the victims and making it very easy for the abuser to walk free. Their teachings and policies continuously change with a flurry of books, letters, and talks in such a way that elders can't keep up. Clearly, neither the Service nor the Legal Department has a clear idea what their responsibility is with regard to the matter at hand. And when either of them is confronted with something in black and white, they respond with, "That's not really what that means because [blah, blah, blah]". Even when they say they strictly follow the bible, when asked about something in black and white, suddenly they don't take the bible at its word.
It looks like the governments need to clear up this WT mess. Australia and every other country and "land" will need to pass laws specifically requiring JW elders to call the police to report the allegation BEFORE they call the branch for direction. Then, maybe, the victims will have a chance at getting some help.
So much for WT's claim that they're ready to take over the world very soon now. Even in these last days, they need the government to make specific legislation for their religion to get them to report a crime to the police.

Billy's comments to the RC #1 - "We always require at least two witnesses... except for when we don't."
by Billy the Ex-Bethelite ini'm still trying to catch up on the rc broadcast posted to youtube, and i haven't been able to keep up with everything discussed here about it.
however, there have been a few points that i wish i could submit.
repeatedly it has been stated that unless there is a confession, jcs can only act on testimony if it is corroborated by two or more witnesses to the wrongdoing.

Maybe Scully, but when it was Jackson that first mentioned that they accept circumstantial evidence, I wondered if he had read this thread. LOL

Women cannot even observe any part of the judicial proceedings, let alone be involved in them. JCs are secret sessions where there needs to be strict confidentiality because most of the elders are unqualified and handle the situation terribly. The confidentiality isn't to protect the offender or the victim, it's to protect the elders from having their incompetence become public knowledge. -

"We'll follow this up after the Royal Commission..." BS, the gb has known about the pedophile problem and disfellowshipped anyone that has protested. Why hasn't Watchtower done anything to fix their flaws before this investigation?
Because they don't really feel that protecting children is that important!

So the government will have to make a law requiring elders to report, otherwise the elders won't do what they know they should do. -

Blame the government for not requiring them to report?
After listening to him explain how the bible prohibits JWs from reporting child molesters makes me hate both Watchtower and the bible.
